Raynaldo Reyes Gamo, 71, of Elmsford, New York passed away after a two year battle with leukemia. He was being visited and comforted by family members at the White Plains Hospital at the time of passing. Born in San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines on November 27, 1942 to the late Consolacion and Gregorio Gamo Jr..
Ray was an incredibly selfless man who enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, singing karaoke, and being the life of the party. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Ray was survived by his wife Thelma Gamo and was very proud of his six children, Jocelyn Joyce Gamo Maningo, Raynaldo Gamo, Jr, Ryan Gamo, Randy Gamo, Reegan Gamo and Remo Gamo, step-daughter Patricia Maranan-Castro. Ray is also survived by seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren as well as his many loving sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends.
A wake service will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 2 and 3, 2014 respectively from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in honor of Ray at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10:00 am on Monday, August 4, 2014. Father Paul Obiji will officiate. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
