Raymond A. Frasene Sr., 92, a resident of Elmsford, NY for 60 years, died January 6, 2014, at White Plains Hospital, White Plains, NY. He was born to Giovanni and Maria (nee Pascucci) Frasene in Corona, Queens on May 27, 1921. He Graduated from Newtown High School in 1939 and the Delehanty Institute in 1953. During World War II, Mr. Frasene served with Intelligence Reconnaissance for the 413th Regimental Headquarters of the 104th Infantry Division (also known as the Timberwolves). He received three battle stars for the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of Hurtgen Forest. He was awarded the Purple Heart for having been wounded in an enemy action. Mr. Frasene returned to the front in time for the liberation of Nordhausen Concentration Camp on April 12, 1945. Raymond married the love of his life, Dorothy Morezzi, on September 14, 1947 at St. Leo's Church in Corona, Queens. He was a devoted husband and father who lived his life as an example to others. His real passion was enjoying good times spent with his family. He coached Little League and CYO Baseball Teams. Mr. Frasene was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Elmsford for over 60 years serving as Minister of the Word, and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He served as past president of the Elmsford Fire Company and was a member for over 35 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Raymond is predeceased by his son Raymond Jr., and brothers Ettore, Nello, and Ezio. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of 66 years, sons Dennis (Karen) Frasene Sr. of Yorktown Heights, NY, Stephen Frasene of Elmsford, NY, and daughter Linda (Douglas) Daniels of White Plains, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren Dennis (Tamara) Frasene Jr., Jessica (Michael) Silvers, Amanda (Matthew) Arruda, Jennifer, Douglas Jr, and Christina Daniels, and great-grandsons Brennan and Connor Arruda. Reposing Thursday 3 PM through 8 PM Hawthorne Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Elmsford, NY. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
