Rae Faith Van Wart Robinson, a lifelong White Plains resident, died at her home. She was 95.

She was born June 4, 1925 to Raymond V. and Susan V Robinson in White Plains, N.Y., where she attended the schools. She attended Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT. She graduated from Barnard College, New York, N.Y. and the Columbia University School of Library Services, New York, N.Y.

From 1950 to 1980 she was a member of the faculty of Hunter College of the City University of New York. She was the head cataloger in the library department and held professorial rank.

Professor Robinson was a member of many professional library organizations, a member of the American Association of University Professors, and a life member of the American Library Association. She had been listed in the "Who's Who of American Women" and "A Biographical Directory of Librarians in the United States and Canada".

After her retirement she served on the boards of the Friends of the White Plains Public Library and the White Plains Garden Club, and was a member of the Woman's Club of White Plains, The White Plains Historical Society and the College Club of White Plains.

Professor Robinson had been a member of the White Plains Presbyterian Church since 1941.

She was a direct descendent of Isaac F. Van Wart who with John Paulding and David Williams, thwarted Benedict Arnolds plans to deliver West Point to the British in the American Revolution, when they captured Major John Andre on September 23, 1780 in Tarrytown. A medal, created by Congress was presented to Van Wart by George Washington in 1780, and he was also given a farm in Westchester. Captor's Monument in Patriots' Park in Tarrytown commemorates the deed.
