Pietro Riccio 86, of New Rochelle, N.Y. passed away on Nov.21, 2011. The youngest of eight children, he was born on Sept. 3, 1925 to the late Antonio and Teresa (nee Della Badia) Riccio in Guardia dei Lombardi, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in February, 1961 settleing in New Rochelle, N.Y. Pietro was an avid hunter and was a member of Woodbury Field and Stream Club in Highland Falls, N.Y. and enjoyed making homemade wine and playing cards with his brothers and nephews. He loved his vegetable garden and most of all he loved taking care of his family. Pietro was predeceased by his devoted wife of sixty two years, Rocchina (nee Salierno) Riccio in 2009 and his sisters; Victoria Troiano and Mariagrazia Di Pietro and by his brothers; Charles, John, Joseph, Frank and Nick Riccio. He is survived by his loving and dedicated daughter, Geraldine Schmidt and her husband Richard of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. and his cherished granddaughter, Sara, and great grandson, Cayson Richard. Also survived by his brother in law and sister in law, Vincenzo and Angela Salierno and sister in law Rose Riccio. He also leaves behind, many loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Richard Charney and staff, his cardiologist for keeping him well since 1998. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Friday 4:30- 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass, St. Theresa's Church, Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. on Saturday, 9:45 AM. Entombment Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, N.Y.
