Philip DeValera Egan 93, of Valhalla, N.Y. died on Dec. 23, 2014. He was born on Jan. 3, 1921 to the late Thomas and Mary Katherine (nee Beirne) Egan in Bronx, N.Y. Phil proudly served in the U.S. Navy with the Sea Bee's NCB 53rd Battalion during WWII. He worked as a systems manager for New York Telephone Co. in White Plains, N.Y. Phil was a past president of the Valhalla Lions Club and the Highclere Lane Association, a member of the Valhalla American Legion; he was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Zoning Board and the Holy Name Society. In 1976 he lead the Valhalla bicentennial and was a member of the pioneer club of N.Y. Telephone Co. Phil was one of the bingo boys and was involved with the pancake breakfasts at Holy Name of Jesus Church. He was also an usher and a commentator. Phil was predeceased by his devoted wife Virginia Egan in 2011. He is survived by his loving son Philip Daniel (Margaret) Egan of Gainesville, GA., his loving daughter Christina (David Rudolph) Egan of Pound Ridge, NY., his sister Veronica Egan of Falmouth, Mass., his cherished granddaughter Eliza Rudolph, and many nieces and nephews. Phil is predeceased by his six brothers. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday (today) 4-8PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, NY on Saturday 10AM. Interment, Mt.
