Philip J. Abbondola 87, of Valhalla, N.Y. died on Jan. 23, 2013. He was born on July 24, 1925 to the late Joseph and Anna (nee Stango) Abbondola in Yonkers, N.Y. Philip proudly served with the Merchant Marines during WWII. He worked for Peckham Road Corp in White Plains, N.Y. for 25 years and Halmar International in Nanuet, N.Y. Philip was a member of the Westchester Coin Club in White Plains, N.Y. and the Mt. Pleasant Seniors. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Irene Abbondola in 2009 and by his one brother and four sisters. Philip is survived by his loving children, Philip J.(Lisa) Abbondola, Jr. of Pound Ridge, N.Y., Anthony P. (Rosa Maria) of Valhalla, N.Y., Diane (Anthony) Sarvaideo of Congers, N.Y., Anne (Thomas) Massimo of Monsey, N.Y. and Cissy Longo of Valhalla, N.Y. Also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren, Keith P. (Heather) Massimo, Anthony and Joseph Sarvaideo, Deanna, Jessica, Philip and Juliana Abbondola. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday (today) 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Saturday, 10 AM. Interment, Mt.Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y.
