Peter James MacLeod died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at White Plains Hospital at the age of 92. He was born on November 20, 1918 in Framboise, Nova Scotia, Canada to John MacLeod and Sarah MacKillop. He served overseas in the Canadian Army for 5 years during WW II. He returned home and lived there until 1953 when he married Eleanore Eunice MacLeod and they moved to White Plains, New York. Peter worked for White Plains Tree Service for several years before he became the owner until he retired. He was an active volunteer in his retirement, delivering Meals on Wheels and working at the local food pantries until his wife became ill and he stayed home to care for her until her death in 2007. He is survived by his daughter Brenda (Madera) of Pleasantville, New York, son David of Lake Carmel, New York, and son John of North Salem, New York, and his four grandchildren Stephanie, Jesse, Stephen and Sarah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jansen Hospice or White Plains Hospital.
