Peter A. Macaluso 83, of Thornwood, N.Y. died on Sept.15, 2010 at White Plains Hospital Center. He was born on Nov.8, 1926 to the late Joseph and Rachel
(nee Palladino) Macaluso in Bronx, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army and fought in Okinawa during WWII. He was a member of the Thornwood American Legion. Peter was a retired Lace Weaver with Liberty Fabrics of NY and later was owner – operator of Betta News in Greenwich, Conn. and was railroad station concessionaire at Cos Cob Train Station. Peter is survived by his devoted wife Etta (nee Annese) Macaluso of Thornwood, N.Y. his loving sons; Steven M. Macaluso and his wife Lauren-Anne (Vallaro) of Hawthorne, N.Y. and Peter J. Macaluso and his wife Ellen (Miller) of Washingtonville, N.Y. two sisters; Mary Gelsomino of Katonah N.Y. and Jennie Staniscia of Danbury, Conn. Also survived by his four cherished grandchildren; Peter Edward, Adam Christopher, Timothy David and Jared Alexander and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three sisters; Josie, Anna and Rose and three deceased brothers; George, Angelo and Joseph. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Monday 10:30 AM. Entombment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
