Paul Joseph Spelman

Paul Joseph Spelman passed away on March 18, 2019 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio under the care of Mount Carmel Hospice due to complications from Pneumonia. Paul was born in Port Chester, NY on October 31, 1934, grew up in Mamaroneck, NY and graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. Paul was the starting Point Guard on the Basketball team his Junior and Senior year and attended Florida Southern College to further his studies and play Basketball. Paul resided in Thornwood, NY for 43 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mina (ne.Seyrer) Spelman. Besides his wife, Paul is survived by his sons David G. Spelman and Lawrence P. Spelman with his wife Kathleen (ne.Manning) and grandchildren Ryan, Bradley, Rachael, Kevin , Charlotte and Luke. Paul is also survived by sons Mark E. Spelman and Charles T. Spelman from a first marriage. He is predeceased by his father William V. Spelman, mother Virginia (ne.Sahre) Spelman, brothers William V. Spelman and Richard P. Spelman. Paul retired from the Westchester Joint Water Works in Mamaroneck, NY after a thirty year career. He was an avid sports enthusiast and Yankees and Giants fan. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY on Friday 11:30 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of donations and flowers please remember Paul in your daily prayers.
