Pat was a kind, gracious woman with a curiosity for the world around her. Pat loved to learn about history, especially that of her own family. She spent years immersed in Genealogy, tracing parts of her family back to the 1600’s in Scotland. Pat was excited to connect with new distant relatives. When she exhausted this line of research, she used her skills and knowledge to help other people explore their family background. Pat also transcribed many historical records for the Ancestry database. Patricia’s love of her history and culture led her to travel. She visited Ireland several times with family and friends, and Scotland as well. Pat was a talented knitter, always creating beautiful items for friends and family.
Pat was one of the first residents of Grovewood Villas a community of caring individuals in The Villages Florida. She participated in Book Club, Ladies’ Lunch, Dinner Out, Mahjong, and various outings. She delighted in 2 Irish Clubs and Genealogy Club, Zumba classes and Sparky’s Strummers with cousin Dan. Pat enjoyed plays and music events at the town squares. Her neighbors marveled at her positive attitude, and strength. Pat volunteered teaching younger generation the fun of knitting at the local middle school. The thread through all her activities and interests was her kindness, generosity, and desire for others to learn and excel. She encouraged others through her own pursuits and example. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In heaven, she will be reunited with her parents, brother Ray and family that are waiting for her.
