Mrs. Olive Gertrude Force, a long time resident of Greenburgh, born in Manhattan on August 8, 1926, passed away July 12, 2010. She was the 2nd of 7 children born to Edward Wright and Olive Mae Tucker. Olive was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Albert Force; 2 brothers Edward and Charles Wright and 2 sisters, Myrtle Willis and Lauren Leake.
Olive's family moved to Greenburgh, NY in 1934 where she attended public schools, married and raised her family. Olive retired from NY Tel in 1978 after 34 years of service. She was long-standing member of Union Baptist Church and a committed member of the missionary board. Olive enjoyed her family, music, traveling, playing chess and entertaining her friends and family with her rapier wit and sense of humor. Olive was a dedicated member of the Universal GoJu Way of Life, Inc. Senior Citizen Chess Class in White Plains, NY.
Olive leaves behind to celebrate her life, her children: Steve Force of Warren, OH, Alan Force of Seattle, WA; Felicia Walker-Jones, Jacqui Bergonzi and Eric Force all of White Plains; a Granddaughter Felicia (Peaches) Sollis of Mt. Vernon, whom she raised as her own; 3 daughters-in-law Joyce Force, Laura Servid and Lori Force; 3 sons-in-law Sylvester Parker-Jones, Adam Bergonzi and Joseph Cave; 2 sisters Barbara Baylock of Connecticut, and Beatrice Miller of White Plains, her Grandchildren; Jimmy Brunson; Tanya and Nicky Davis; Whitney & Kelly Walker, Sarah & Kai Parker; Blair, Dawn & Elyse Hamme; Justin Toppin, Sebastian and Ebony Force; 1 Great Grandchild Isabel-Joe Cave, a host of nieces, nephews and friends and Grandmaster Shihan W. Mack and the student of Universal GoJu Ryu Kai.
