Nora Marie Riegel

Nora Marie Riegel 90, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on May 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born on March 26, 1928 to the late John and Margaret (nee Woods) Schneider in Tarrytown, N.Y. She was a retired Switchboard Operator Supervisor with NY Telephone Co. in Tarrytown, N.Y. Nora loved word search puzzles and also loved to travel. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Richard Riegel in 2003 and son, Charles Riegel in 1995, age 30 active Croton Police Department in service and predeceased by her brother, Charles Schneider and sister, Margaret (John) Remling.  Nora is survived by her loving son, Richard Riegel of Hawthorne, N.Y. (Retired NYPD Detective), her daughter, Dawn O’Connor of Mallow, Ireland and her faithful companion and dog, Benjamin. Also survived by her sister in law, Harriet Schneider. Funeral Services Private. Burial of her ashes will take place at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y. in the future.In lieu of flowers donations to either St.Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN or Phelps Hospice would be appreciated.
