Nina L. (Horan) Barr

Nina L. Barr 59, of Ossining, N.Y. peacefully passed away June 6th, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Born in Scarsdale, NY on January 18th, 1961 to Leo and Joan Horan. Nina graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and received a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Berkley College.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard D. Barr; daughters Sarah, Shannon (Matthew), Samantha, and Sabrina. She also leaves behind sisters Virginia Papaioannou (Takis), Lisa Mastromonaco (Martin) and brothers Robert Horan, Michael Horan, and predeceased by Leo Horan III.

Nina's greatest love was her family. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost and embraced every moment with her daughters. She led her life with compassion and optimism. Her magnetic and youthful spirit left a lasting impression on anyone she encountered. She cherished her lifelong friendships and found joy in bringing everyone together.

Gardening was her therapy, books were her comfort, shopping was her cardio, sweets were her weakness, and laughter was her medicine. She believed that all small moments and big milestones should be celebrated, often with confetti and party napkins. Later in life, she found her passion as a Bridal Coordinator at The Briarcliff Manor, ensuring every bride had their fairytale beginning. Her favorite moments were spent taking in water views and traveling to new cities with friends & family.

She was the sunshine of our lives and we will keep her sparkle shining.
