On 9/10/1937 Lillie Marie Younger was blessed with giving birth to Nila Anne Arrington. Nila was raised by Lillie and her grandparent Marie and Frank Lewis. Her childhood was always surrounded with family and many friends. As a lifelong resident of White Plains she attended and graduated from White Plains High School. In February of 1959 Nila married William Howard Arrington. And three years latter she gave birth to a baby boy Jay Edmond Arrington. Her career path led her into a variety of employment. Her first after school job was with a clothing store Trenchers here in White Plains where she developed her unique sense of style. She went on to work in clerical and supervisory roles for Nestle, Western Electric, Honeywell, Marcia Cooper, Adecco Staffing, and lastly with Brook Street Staffing. While at Honeywell Nila was promoted into a supervisor position. One of Nila's greatest passions were being an avid sports fan of all the New York teams, cooking, listening to her music. Her musical tastes included a wide variety but the greatest passion was for Johnny Mathis and Frank Sinatra. As she used to say it's Frank's world and there is no other. In 2005 Nila was blessed with another branch of growth in her family tree, a granddaughter Ava Grace Arrington. Ava became one of the greatest joys in Nila's life. Her knowledge of being a parent and her beliefs she passed on with great pride and wisdom to her son. And this will be passed from generation to generation. In closing Nila was a great teacher, a friend, an inspiration, a mother and most of all a hero to her son.
