Neil Stanton Flamm, age 70, passed away on Friday, November 1st due to sudden heart failure. His mind was strong, his wit was sharp and while his heart may have been physically weak, it was full of immeasurable love for his family and dear friends.
Neil was born August 31, 1943, son of Harry and Estelle Flamm and brother to Richard Flamm and Jane Ermilio. He was a phenomenal athlete with beautiful green eyes that he used for his unbelievable court vision whenever he played basketball. Neil was also a top-notch pool player, outstanding tennis player and loved football. Athletic and charismatic, he was a Pace University graduate and captain of their basketball team. With a Masters degree from C.W. Post, Neil was an educator and coach.
The center of Neil’s life was his wife Aida and his children: Erica Pennant and her husband Billy, Jason Flamm and his wife Melissa and Kimberly Flamm. He was a loving grandfather and cherished every moment spent with his beautiful granddaughters Emily Flamm and Chloe Pennant. His profound love for his family was clear to all who knew him.
Loving Neil was easy and contagious. He lived his life with a remarkable sense of humor, tremendous ambition and an amazing ability to provide for his family. He was an incredible storyteller, sharing moments of his eventful past with such vivid detail they could be played back in full color.
Neil’s big heart and overwhelming love will be missed every day. His memories will be treasured by his beloved family, immediate and extended, and in the hearts of his life-long friends.
In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Neil Stanton Flamm may be given to the American Heart Association. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/
