Nathan Langer, of the Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2006 at White Plains Hospital. He was 84 years old. Nat was always known for his great sence of humor and positive outlook.
Nathan was born in New York City on August 21, 1921 to Samuel and Lillian Langer. He was an avid student of science. was recognised as best in biology in highschool, recieved the highest mark on a citywide physics test when he studied engineering at Fordham University ans was voted most likely to succeed by his graduating class. He taught himself many aspects of practical science, designed and built working model boats, airplanes, cameras, telescopes and audio systems, played in the New York Mandolin Orchestra at the 1939 World's Fair, played piano, harmonica and the organ and enjoyed opera. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines as a Teletype Mechanic during World War II, and worked as a photoengraver at Horan Engraving in NYC until his retirement in 1986.
He married Miriam Palmer on March 25, 1944. He also is survived by his loving and devoted daughters, Lisa VanGundy and Kara Euvino, his brother, Julian Langer, his cousin, Irwin Rosenblatt, and granddaughters, Liza, Erika & Olivia VanGundy and Sara Euvino. There will be a private celebration of his life.
