Miriam Bender

Miriam Bender, a 62 year resident of White Plains, NY died peacefully in her sleep on March 26, 2010 in Delray Beach, FL. A doyenne of volunteerism, she was recognized for her leadership with Temple Israel Center's Talking Books Program for the visually impaired, her work with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and the PTA of Battle Hill School. She was an erudite student, an avid reader, and loved all sports especially golf. Predeceased by her husband Dr. Sidney Bender, her parents Simon and Lena Cohen, and her brother Sidney Cohen, she is survived by her son Harv, daughter Barbara, sister Irene Braunstein, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Naomi and Bill Schlossberg, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
