Mildred A. Panny

Mildred A. Panny, 87, of Valhalla, NY died on July 19, 2015. Mildred was born on July 26, 1927 in Albany, NY. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of New Rochelle, and later earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oneonta, as well as Certification in school administration. Moving to Valhalla with her family in 1959, Mildred had a long and varied career. She served as organist and choir director at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla for over 40 years. She also enjoyed a long association with the Institute for Applied Human Dynamics, where she served as a teacher of special needs children, eventually becoming school principal. Mildred loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her friends, and celebrate her Faith through music with fellow parishioners at Holy Name. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Frank, her brothers Joseph and George, and her sister Teresa. Surviving Mildred are her children: Christopher (Diana Kacso), Stephen (Christa), Barbara, Susan (Debra Warn), and Francis Jr. (Valerie). She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren: Gabriel, Ryan, Benjamin, and Michael Joseph. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, Thursday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Friday, 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
