Michael F.X. Boylan, 89, died Monday at The Bristol of White Plains, New York. He was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and was a long time resident of Point Pleasant, NJ, where he lived with his loving wife of 50 years, Edna. He was a graduate of Cooper Union in NYC and Lincoln H.S. in Jersey City. A World War II Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Missouri in the Pacific. He is a retired Jersey City Police Captain who later worked for the US Army as an Avionics Engineer based at Fort Monmouth.
He is survived by his daughter Margaret and son in law Ronald Statile of White Plains, NY; his son Michael and his daughter in law Joanne of Lisle, IL: his son James and daughter in law Jane of Cleveland, OH; his daughter in law Holly Boylan Flego, the wife of his late son Thomas of Colts Neck, NJ.: his sister Kathleen Chester of Jersey City, NJ: eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Edna and his sister Rosemarie Atkinson.
Visiting will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Ballard Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be offered Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison, NY. Burial will be at 1:30 PM at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
