Matthew P. Muscolino

Matthew P. Muscolino 69, of Hawthorne, NY and formerly of New City, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 13, 2017. Loving dad of his three children Dawn Muscolino-Donnelly (David Donnelly), James Muscolino (Brian Spitz) and Gina Muscolino-Lungen (Daniel Lungen); Proud grandfather of his three grandchildren Riley, Reagan and Isabella and big brother to Robert J and Ross J Muscolino, along with many loving nieces, nephews and numerous friends, Matthew is predeceased by his grandparents and parents Cy and Mae Muscolino and nephew Joseph A. Muscolino. Matthew was born in Hawthorne NY, on September 24, 1947. He graduated from Westlake High School after attending Stepinac High School. Matthew honorably served in the United States Army. He then continued his Theological education graduating Saint Mary’s College in Kentucky, completing his Master’s in Business at Cathedral College in NY, at which time he was an Auditing Manager for AT&T in NYC until his retirement. Matthew, dedicated his life to serving his communities, he volunteered a life time of service to The Hawthorne Fire Department holding numerous positions and as Chief of the New City Fire Department in Rockland County. Reposing, New City Fire Engine Company No. 1, 15 Maple Ave. New City, NY on Sunday from 1 PM thru 6 PM. Also reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, Hawthorne, NY on Monday from 10 AM thru 11:30 AM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY on Monday 12 Noon. Entombment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or a charity of your choice.
