Mary (Puntigam) Sutyak: A lifetime resident of Hawthorne passed December 10, 2017. She was 98. Mary was born April 28, 1919 to the late Leopold and Barbara (Schmidt) Puntigam in Hawthorne. She graduated Pleasantville High School in 1939. She first worked at Readers Digest in Mt. Kisco and retired from Educational Audio Visual in 1989. Mary is predeceased by her 1st husband John (Scotty) Cormack, 1942; and her 2nd husband John Sutyak (1986). Also predeceased by her sister Anna Ranus, her brother & sister-in-law Joe and June Puntigam, 1st cousin Lilly Winzig and other family relatives. Mary is survived by 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mary was a life member of the Hawthorne Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; She was an active chaperone and seamstress for the Thornwood Fire Dept. Band “The Lancers” from 1965-1994. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday 9 AM to 11 AM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne NY. on Wednesday 11:30 AM. Interment, All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hawthorne Fire Department 25 Home St. Hawthorne, NY 10532.
