Mary Catherine Pecora, 86, of White Plains, NY, died April 10, 2013.
She was born March 28, 1927 in Yonkers, NY. A graduate of Commerce High School, in 1945, most proud to be voted "Most Likely To Succeed"�.
Mary operated her own business in Yonkers, "Mary Medico Dressmaking, Alterations and Fashion Consulting."� While raising her children she taught CCD classes at OLMC, dressmaking at Greenburgh Recreation and at Macy*s White Plains where she retired after 24 years
She was known for her fashion-style, love of Chanel No. 5, and her red hats. Mary will always be remembered for her kindness, love of family, and visiting lighthouses throughout the East Coast.
Surviving are daughter, Maria (William Sullivan), and sons, Gennaro (Jean), and John Pecora, grandchildren, Dominick and Catherine. She is also survived by her brothers, Louis and Dominick Medico, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Herbert R. Pecora, parents, John and Maria Domenica (De Spirito) and her siblings, Leonard, Celeste (Buono) and John.
Services at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Elmsford), April 13, at 11:00 am. Interment at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale.
Visiting hours at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, Elmsford, NY Friday, April 12, 2:00- 4:00 pm and 7:00- 9:00 pm.
