Mary (Dympna) O'Dwyer

Mary O'Dwyer, age 98, sadly passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023. She was born Mary Dympna Ryan in Cloneybrien, Tipperary, Ireland on September 5, 1924 to Jeremiah and Annie Ryan. She was the only sister to Jerry, Matt, Crist and Sean.

She married James O'Dwyer in Ireland in 1953. They eventually immigrated and settled in New York in 1954 after arriving on the Queen Mary.

Mary is survived by her children, Jim and Mary Anne, their spouses Joyce and Steve, as well as her beloved grandchildren Michael, Ali and Steven James. Also her nephews Noel, Martin and cousin Mary in Ireland as well as many cousins in the US. She is predeceased by her husband Jim, her father, mother and brothers.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to Fr. Ron Galt, the kindness of many of the staff who cared for Mom and the friends she made during her time at Cabrini of Westchester. Special thanks to Kristy Heinrich, Patricia and Chaplain Jesse with Hospice of Westchester for their care and devotion in her final days.
