Mary A. Mondello 79, of White Plains, N.Y. and most recently of Danbury, Conn. died on Nov. 10, 2009 at her residence. She was born on August 10, 1930 to the late Walter and Kathryn (nee DeVito) Asta in White Plains, N.Y. Mary was a retired telephone operator for New York Telephone Co. in White Plains, N.Y. retiring in 1980, where she is a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mary was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Roma AC Club in White Plains, N.Y. She is survived by her devoted husband Rocco C. Mondello of Danbury, Conn. and her loving daughter Barbara Adelizzi and her husband Joseph of New Fairfield, Conn. 1 brother James Asta, and 3 sisters Josephine Cervi, Theresa Fabiano and Linda Asta. Predeceased by 1 brother Thomas Asta. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday (today) 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Mt.Carmel Church, White Plains, N.Y. on Friday 10 AM.
