Mary LaVopa

Mary LaVopa 92, of Valhalla, N.Y. and most recently of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. died on Nov.18, 2012 in Ridgefield, Conn. She was born on Feb.29, 1920 to the late Domenick and Filomena (nee D'Aquino) Virgilio in Italy. She was a retired seamstress in NYC. Mary was predeceased by her devoted husband Domenick LaVopa in 1978 and by her one brother Vito Virgilio and two sisters, Rose Mastromonaco and Dotty Zanfordino. She is survived by her loving son, Dennis (Catherine) LaVopa of Poughquag, N.Y. and one sister, Angelina Parrino of Pawling, N.Y. Also survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Donna Marie (Christopher), Michelle and Dennis Michael (Jennifer) and two great grandchildren, Giuliana and Caitlin Mark. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Friday 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. Saturday 10 AM. Entombment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
