Mary Garzia 97, of North White Plains, N.Y. died on May 9, 2021 at her residence. She was born on Nov. 1, 1923 to the late Salvatore and Stella (nee Sorrenti) Raso in Reggio Calabria, Italy. She was a Waitress at B. Altman’s and Bloomingdale’s for many decades and was lovingly known as “Little Mary”, she retired in 2013 at the age of 89 . She was a great cook, her lasagna , eggplant parm, broccoli and chicken soup were her specialties. She also made a mean ricotta pie. Mary loved to go to the senior center to spend time with her friends and to play her favorite game bingo. She also loved to go to Empire City to play the slot machines. Her favorite time was spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was the loving  matriarch of her family. She was widowed in 1982 after being married for 35 joyous years. Our mom was always ready to get up and go. Her favorite question was “ Whats On the Agenda.” Mary was predeceased by her devoted husband, Nicholas Garzia in 1982 and her brother, Louis Raso. She is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Putorti of North White Plains, N.Y., Nancy (Dale) LaCava of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. and Joanne (Anthony) Tripodi of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. also survived by her four cherished grandchildren, Dena Restaino, Justin LaCava, Ryan (Leigh-Anne) LaCava, Christopher (Kate) Tripodi and four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Rocco, Lilianna and Levi. Also survived by her sister in laws, Louise Raso and Rosemary Rose. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Heart Association www2.heart.org, would be appreciated.
