Mary A. Feraulo

Mary A. Feraulo 96, a former resident of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. and most recently of Kent, Conn. peacefully passed away September 5, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph A. Feraulo, and the loving mother in law to the late Lawrence A. DiLunardi. Mary was born in Mt.Vernon, N.Y. on October 22, 1916 to Ferdinand and Filomena DeMaso. She raised her family in Mt.Vernon while working for the JC Dress Shop as a seamstress. Mary was a devout and active member of Mt.Carmel Church and Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Mt.Vernon. After a time, she then moved to Eastchester in the Senior Residences, and then on to Kent, Conn. As a gentle and patient mother, always encouraging, teaching and putting her family first throughout her entire life. She was a caring and energetic grandmother and a loving and kind great grandmother. She taught her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to cook, crochet and bake. Her recipes were cheerfully and proudly shared. But most of all, she gave her family life lessons in kindness, love and above all, courage. Mary had many friends through the years. She was a loyal and helpful friend, with a winning smile and a generous heart. She is survived by her adoring family, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her daughters Christina (Victor) Positano, Barbara (Thomas) DeVito. Six grandchildren, Laura DiLunardi-Bermudez (Lawrence and Francesca), Debra (John) Morrison (Jennifer, John, Alyssa, Chelsea), Suzanne (Jon) Bloch (Madison, Taylor, Conner), Thomas DeVito, Ronald DeVito, Julie DeVito (Gionna, Ava and Rudy Thompson). And, two surviving sisters, Rose Sclafani and Ann (Barry) Marzella, two brothers, Nick (Jenny) Cerbone, Sal Cerbone. And a great many loving and very special nieces and nephews. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Monday, 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Interment to follow.
