Mary Theresa Cleary

Mary Theresa Cleary 85, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on June 4, 2021 at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. She was born on July 21, 1935 to the late Lawrence and Anna (nee Galvin) Bolger in Bronx, N.Y. She volunteered at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, N.Y. and Maryknoll in Ossining, N.Y. and a longtime member of 3 ^rd Order Dominicans. She gave her time to everyone and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mary was predeceased by her devoted husband, Martin Cleary in 1981 and by her beloved son in law, Donald (Butchie) Petersen in 2008 and also predeceased by her brother, John (Jack) Bolger. She is survived by her loving daughters, Anne Marie (Richard) Cleary-Maiden of Hawthorne, N.Y., Mary Petersen of Naples, FL., Christina Cleary of Hawthorne, N.Y. and Claire Sellas of Daytona Beach, FL. also survived by her two cherished grandchildren, Brittany and Sean Petersen. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Ave. Hawthorne, N.Y. would be appreciated.
