Martin Kaplan

January 24, 1937 — August 3, 2024

Briarcliff Manor, NY

Martin Kaplan was born on January 1, 1937 to Samuel and Sally Kaplan in Tarrtywon, NY. His older brother Joel Kaplan resides in California.

He is survived by Joel, his wife Sue, his two sons Adam and David and his 4 grandchildren Samuel, Joseph, Kate and Alexa.

Martin graduated college in just 2 years and started dental school right away. He was a practicing dentist by the age of just 24. He married his college sweetheart when he was just 18 in Monroe Michigan on May 10, 1955.

He served in the Army from 1961 - 1963 and earned the rank of Captain while serving as an enlisted dentist in Fort Hood, TX. He started his dental practice just a few block from his parents home in Tarrytown and worked there for over 40 years, until he retired.

He moved to Briarcliff Manor with his wife Sue in 1963 and began a family with his 2 sons, born in 1967 and 1969.

His grandchildren were born in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2008.

His service in the Army, his dental practice and his family were the most important things in his life. He was a very sincere man and would never say something that he didn't mean.

His hobbies included computers, golf and taking care of his home and cars. He was very handy and could fix just about anything if he set his mind to it.

Shiva will be held at the home of Adam and Meri Kaplan between 2 and 10 pm on Tuesday August 6.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
