Marion Oliva, 89, of Valhalla, New York was welcomed to heaven surrounded by her family on February 25th 2017.  Marion was born in White Plains, New York and predeceased by her parents Winifred Gallagher Healy, and William Joseph Healy, both of whom emigrated from Ireland. Proud of their Irish heritage, she is the beloved sister of William Healy, and the late Martin Lester (Bud) Healy.   She attended White Plains High School, and later in life returned to education at Westchester Community College. Marion was wed on July 10, 1949 to the love of her life – the late Chief Paul J. Oliva Sr. – Mt. Pleasant Police Department.  Marion devoted much of her life to the job she loved – as Religious Education secretary at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, New York. Her children were her life.  She is survived by her devoted son, Chief Paul J. Oliva, Jr. (Kathy Conroy) Mt. Pleasant, Police Department – Valhalla, NY, her two loving daughters - Dr. Lori (née Oliva) (Bill) Smittle, DNP, R.N., of Valhalla, New York, and Paulette Oliva, (Peter Mc Clung) of White Plains, New York. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Cristin Grogan, Caitlin Grogan, Katrina Klaus, Paul Oliva III, Cassandra Klaus, Kiana Oliva, Emily Schlotman, Charles Klaus, Laura Rhuda (née Smittle), and Will Smittle. The Oliva family is receiving visitors at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday February 28, 2017 from 4-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-8:00 p.m.  followed by a funeral mass at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, NY at 10:00 a.m. on March 2, 2017 – and interment immediately after – at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation to the Valhalla Volunteer Ambulance Corp, 1 Westlake Drive, Valhalla, NY  10595
