With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, Mario G. Manfredi, who passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at White Plains Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 87 years old.
Mario was a longtime resident of Mount Pleasant ,NY and Sarasota, FL. Born in Little Italy, NYC on January 7, 1938, to Italian immigrants Mario and Antoinette (Poggioli) Manfredi, he was raised in Brooklyn and later attended the Christian Brothers Academy in Goshen, NY. He went on to graduate in 1955 from LaSalle Military Academy in Oakdale, Long Island, and attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn.
On October 15, 1966, in Brooklyn, NY, Mario married the love of his life, Patricia N. Sztyk, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, building their successful businesses and enjoying their beach homes.
He started his professional career as Metro DC Police officer. Mario proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserve Medical Corps, receiving an honorable discharge. After the police department and Air Force. He then dedicated his professional life to building AAA Emergency Supply Co., Inc., a third-generation family business, serving as owner and president from 1971 to 2007. Under his leadership, the company thrived, supplying over 15,000 Scott Air-Paks and essential PPE to emergency responders throughout Westchester, Southern Connecticut, Northern New Jersey, and the New York City Metro Area. Mario's dedication to protecting those who put their lives on the line was unmatched, and his contributions to the fire and emergency services industry will never be forgotten.
Mario's presence was undeniable when he entered a room, you felt it. His warmth, charisma, and unwavering commitment to his family and community were at the heart of who he was. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the business he built, and the deep love he had for those around him.
Mario is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Manfredi, and his two sons: Matthew S. Manfredi (Gretchen) of White Plains, NY and Mark T. Manfredi (Dawn) of Alpine, WY. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Mario G. Manfredi III, in 1988. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Madelene Manfredi, Anna Manfredi, Mark Manfredi Jr. and Isabella Manfredi.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, March 20, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 21, at 12:00 NOON at The Church of the Magdalene, 525 Bedford Road, Sleepy Hollow, New York, followed by interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 575 Hillside Avenue, White Plains, New York.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Mario's lifelong dedication to the First Responder community, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization he deeply respected.
