Marie Speranza

Marie Speranza, 78 of Yonkers, NY passed away peacefully on December 2, 2016. Marie was born the eldest of five siblings to the late Frank and Rose Bassano. She is survived by her daughter Rose Langelotti, son Daniel Speranza, son-in law Stephen Langelotti and grandsons Stephen and Corey Langelotti. Throughout her life, Marie's family was always her priority. Whether it was regular Sunday dinners with Mom and Dad or a phone call to express her latest worry or to share a recently acquired secret, Marie tried to never lose contact with those she loved. Marie relished the people in her life and loved talking to them often. She was a career administrative assistant at IBM and before that Automatic Toll Systems. No matter where she worked, she always believed that her true calling was to counsel and comfort others. Whether in person, on the phone, on the radio or on line, Marie was never shy about offering opinions, advice and support to others. Marie maintained a positive attitude and cheerful presentation despite her own struggles. In her final days, with her family close by, she was loving in manner and courageous in her choices. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, Tuesday 10 AM – 12:00 Noon. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y on Tuesday at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow.
