Marie Puleo

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Marie Elizabeth Puleo, who peacefully left this world on October 4, 2024, at her home in Scarsdale, New York. Born on September 20, 1938, in the area of Little Italy in Bronx, NY, Marie was the beloved daughter of Italian American parents and a cherished sister to her four siblings.

Marie's journey was one of resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to her family. At the young age of 15, she found her lifetime companion and soulmate, Jerry, whose rowing skills captured her heart at the Bronx Botanical Gardens. Their enduring bond lasted for 67 years until Jerry's recent passing, marking the end of a love story that inspired all who knew them. Together, they raised two daughters, Donna and Deborah, who brought immense joy and pride to their lives. They also had three grandchildren, two in-law grandchildren (and a third one to officially join the family next year), and four great grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Marie wore many hats, but it was in the realm of real estate that she found her true calling. As a dedicated Real Estate Broker, she navigated the industry with passion and expertise for nearly four decades. Marie's adventurous spirit led her to explore the world, traveling to various countries and across the United States, gathering cherished memories along the way.

Marie's selflessly devoted herself to serving others, whether through her role as a Girl Scout Leader, helping those in need, or caring for her disabled daughter with unwavering love and devotion for 68 years. She also did a lot of work to help the Sisters of the Poor with fundraisers. These fundraisers assisted in replacing their broken kitchens which they used to prepare meals for the elderly and assist them with anything else they needed. Her kindness and support touched many lives, leaving a mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In her final days, Marie faced numerous health challenges with courage and grace, finding solace in the arms of her loved ones.

The funeral services to honor Marie's life will be held at Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services in White Plains, NY. Visitation will take place on October 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Funeral Mass scheduled for October 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Pius X. A burial service will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 11:30 am on the same day, where Marie will be laid to rest in eternal peace.
