Marie Bucci, of White Plains, NY, formerly of Thornwood, NY, was tragically taken from life on Sunday, October 19, 2008. She was born on July 25, 1943 to John and Anne Goode, in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx. She was raised in Ballinasloe-Cappataggle, County Galway, Ireland.
Marie married Frank Bucci on October 4, 1969. She worked for the FBI, and later, for the Rye Town Hilton as a Banquet Coordinator. Marie leaves behind her loving husband of 39 years, Frank; her doting sons and caring daughters-in-law, Michael, and his wife, Tamara; adoring grandchildren Daniel, Michael & Eva; Frank, and his wife, Chrissy, and adoring grandson, baby Jackie Aidan. She is survived by loving brother-in-law Phil, sister-in-law Isabella (Izzy) Bucci; adoring niece Michelle Bucci Viens, nephew Steve Viens, and nephew Phil Bucci; sister-in-law MaryAnn Bucci; her dear cousin, Marge Goode; her "brother" Art Doerner; and her trusty companion, her German Shepherd, Prince. She also leaves behind many cousins and countless friends in the United States and Ireland. Momsy, as she was affectionately called, was full of life and love. She loved to travel with her husband and friends, especially the Capassos, with whom she spent time with every year in Aruba. She also loved to travel to Ireland, where she spent a special summer with her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and many cousins and friends. Momsy loved the new, up-and-coming White Plains, and loved dining out every Saturday night with her husband and various friends. She also enjoyed her "quiet time," taking walks in her neighborhood with her dog, Prince, and grandson, Jackie, and babysitting Daniel, Michael and Eva. She also loved to shop, garden, knit, and had special talents for baking and decorating. Momsy was selfless, always putting others first. Like a true mother and friend, she was always at the ready with a kind word of encouragement, a smile, and the promise of a better tomorrow. She was so proud of her family, their achievements, and goals. She was their cheerleader. Friends were also very important""they were the extension of her family. She will be missed so much, by so many people. We love you Momsy. "When Irish eyes are smiling." Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
