Margaret C. Gurksnis

Margaret C. Gurksnis 87, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Jan.15, 2013 at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. She was born on April 1, 1925 to the late Arthur and Margaret (nee Trainor) Combs in Ossining, N.Y. Margaret was a retired bookkeeper with Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co. in Mt.Vernon, N.Y. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Thomas Gurksnis in 1994, son, George McCabe in 1966 and granddaughter Dawn. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Maureen (Stephen) McLynn of Hawthorne, N.Y. and John McCabe of Yonkers, N.Y. one brother, George (Eleanor) Combs of Wakefield, RI. Also survived by her 3 cherished grandchildren, Jason, Kim and Judi and 6 great grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Saturday, 11:30 AM. Interment, St.Marys Cemetery, Yonkers, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to The Alzheimer's Assoc. would be appreciated.
