Lynn A. Olson, 77, died February 9, 2024 peacefully at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. with her family by her side.
She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. to Philip and Anah Lohrfink on June 6, 1946. Lynn attended
Gorton High School and graduated from the Cochran School of Nursing in Yonkers, N.Y in 1967. In 1968, she married Edward A. Olson (deceased 2017) and they lived in Ardsley, N.Y. for over 30 years.
She began her nursing career at St. John's Riverside Hospital where she worked for over 40 years and in 2001 she received her Bachelor's Degree from Concordia College.
Lynn held many positions while at St. John's Hospital, including RN, ICU Nurse, Hospital Supervisor, and various Supervisory and Administrative positions before retiring in 2008. At St. John's Hospital she was beloved by her patients and families and respected as a mentor by colleagues. Lynn brought humor and kindness to all of her roles.
After living in Ardsley for over 30 years, Lynn and Ed moved to Ossining, N.Y. where they formed many long lasting relationships. In 2008, they retired and relocated to Myrtle Beach, S.C., where they enjoyed shopping, dining out and going to the beach to collect shells. While in Myrtle Beach, Lynn continued her life of service by teaching CCD and volunteering for Hospice Service and at her local church and food pantry.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Lisa McGrath (Thomas), son, Edward M. Olson (Tanya) and her 3 grandchildren; Elena, Thomas, and John Edward. She lovingly leaves behind two nieces, Lauren Olinek and Jennifer Morfea, and her nephew, Philip Jeffrey Lohrfink. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Olson (2017), by her brother, Philip J. Lohrfink (2013), and by her nephew Michael J. Lohrfink (1986).
