Lucy Rush (born Lucia Agnes Servello), a lifelong Elmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Greenburgh, NY to Agnes and Antonio Servello, she was 81 years old. She graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School and worked for New York Telephone for many years. In 1953, she married Raymond Rush, who survives her. After raising her children, Lucy went back to school and became a licensed practical nurse, graduating from Phelps Hospital's Nursing program. She worked as a nurse at Phelps for 17 years. After retirement, she continued to support Phelps as a volunteer in many capacities, including her work with Hospice. Lucy and Ray were married for 56 years. Lucy is also survived by her daughter, Melanie, and son, Edward (Lauren), and four grandchildren, Tyler, Luke, Francesca, and Connor. She is also survived by her brothers, Frank, and Sal (Barbara) and many nieces and nephews. She is previously deceased by her three brothers, Gus, Tony, and Jim.
