Louise S King

Louise S. King, 93, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2013, at her Rye Brook, NY home. She was born on July 4, 1920, to the late Martha and Harry Straus of New York City and Asheville, NC. Her passions were always of an artistic nature. Besides playing the piano and accordion, she was a gifted creator of many needle point items and had built a series of collector-quality doll houses and shadow boxes. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia King Gerleit and her husband Steven, as well as by her son, Thomas and his wife, Kathryn. Louise was the proud grandparent of six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Louise was predeceased by her loving husband, Roger, and a daughter, Kathryn Louise. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the White Plains Hospital Center.
