Louise Catherine Franzese

Louise Catherine Franzese passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 in the presence of her loving family. Louise was a homemaker of the highest quality and writer of children's stories. She was a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature in West Redding, CT. Born in Brooklyn, Louise attended Schools in Queens before her family moved to Westchester County. She resided in Valhalla, NY, and was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church for 62 years, and a lector there for 35 years. She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul, to whom she was married for 62 years; two daughters and sons-in-law: Paula and Gary McDonagh of Monroe, CT, and Barbara and William Cron of Ridgewood, NJ; three grandchildren, Alyssa McDonagh, Shannon Cron and Ryan Cron; her brother, Robert Rector of Bend, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Louise is predeceased by her mother and father, Edith and Porter Rector; a brother, Eugene Rector; and a sister, Ethel Rector. Visitation will be at the Hawthorne Funeral Home in Hawthorne, NY, on Friday the 24th from 4-8PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, NY, on Saturday the 25th at 10AM, with internment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
