Leo DeBiase

Leo DeBiase 79, of Hawthorne, N.Y. and formerly of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. died peacefully surrounded by his family at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. on March 10, 2021. He was born on Nov.4, 1941 to the late Felice and Sabina (nee Turturro) DeBiase in Giovinazzo, Italy. He was a retired machinist, manufacturing Airplane Parts with Hantscho, Inc. in Mt.Vernon, N.Y. and later worked for his brothers at the family business, DeBiase Service Station in Mt.Vernon, N.Y. He was a very skilled craftsman, an avid gardener and loved his family very much and will be deeply missed. Leo is survived by his devoted wife, Paolina (nee Rutigliano) DeBiase of Hawthorne, N.Y. and by his loving children, Sabrina (Anthony) Rich of Hawthorne, N.Y., Lisa DeBiase of White Plains, N.Y. and Frank (Lakisha) DeBiase of Hawthorne, N.Y.  Also survived by his three cherished grandchildren, Ariana and Olivia Rich and Cecilia DeBiase. Also surviving are his six brothers, Giuseppe, Vincenzo, Marco, Anthony, Cosimo, Eugene and two sisters, Angela Turturro and Anna DeFronzo and predeceased by his two sisters, Rosa Cortese and Franca Lepore. Also survived by his brothers in laws and sisters in laws in New York, New Jersery and Italy and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 3-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10 AM. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
