Lawrence W. Pellegrino 93, of Thornwood and formerly of Wakefield Section of the Bronx, N.Y. died on Oct. 19, 2009 at his residence. He was born on March 29, 1916 to the late Carmine and Grace (nee Napoli) Pellegrino in NYC. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII and currently was a disabled veteran. Larry was a retired asst. forman with the NYC Dept. of Sanitation retiring in 1977 after 33 years. Larry was a member of AARP, The St. Frances of Rome Adult Club in the Bronx and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus with the Wakefield Council # 2922 in the Bronx. He donated more than 40 years of his time raising money for the education of children at Mt.St. Michael Academy in the Bronx where he was recognized as an affiliated member of the Marist Brothers. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years Marie (nee Petrone Pellegrino of Thornwood, N.Y. His loving sons Frank J. Pellegrino and his wife Regina of Thornwood, N.Y. and William L. Pellegrino of Yonkers, N.Y. Also survived by his 3 cherished grandchildren; Frankie, Nicky and Anthony. Larry was predeceased by his 7 brothers and 1 sister.
