Laurane Magliari of New York City died suddenly on Dec. 19, 2014. She was born on Aug. 15, 1950 to Flora and John Magliari in White Plains and was raised in White Plains and Thornwood. She graduated from Westlake High School in 1968. Ms. Magliari holds a BA from Pace University and continued her education at Stanford University, Harvard and The Center for Creative Leadership. Ms. Magliari strategically led both human resources and marketing organizations at multinational companies that included JP Morgan Chase, Gartner and A&P. After retiring in 2004, Ms. Magliari founded Ethinkids, Inc. A company dedicated to building character in children. Ethinkids first product, "What's the deal?" A character development game, won creative child's magazine seal of excellance in its launch year. Among her many community positions she served on the Board of My Sisters Place in White Plains. In addition to bringing her extensive business experience and acumen to the board room table, she was committed to helping the women making a difference for the victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, helping them move forward in their lives. She worked in the trenches and the board room. Laurane will be greatly missed by her extensive family and friends and all those her life touched. She was a warm, loving and generous woman who freely gave of her time and expertise. She is predeceased by her father John Magliari in 1979 and her brother John in 1957 and is survived by her mother Flora Magliari, her sisters, Dawn Magliari and Janice Palladino and her brothers Paul, Robert and Ronald Magliari. Also, her stepson Jason Fazzinga and her granddaughter Everleigh Fazzinga and eight loving nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving family and friends at Flora Magliari's home at 66 Randolph Rd, White Plains, N.Y. 10607 on Dec. 26th & 27th between the hours of 2-6PM. There will be a memorial service/party to celebrate Laurane's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to My Sisters Place, White Plains, N.Y. or Burke Rehabilitation, White Plains, N.Y. would be appreciated.
