With deep sorrow, I announce that my husband, Kirk Ellis, went home to his Heavenly Father on July 9th, 2021.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to me."
With tearful eyes I watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though I loved you dearly
I couldn't make you stay
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired body put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Kirk was a loving, devoted, hardworking and a proud father to his children Kelly Ann Ellis, Brendan Kirk Ellis (Katja) and Moira Susan Graff (Paul). As a grandfather, he was fond, thoughtful and admired his grandchildren Kaelan (Presley), Daniel, Emily, Zoey and Molly.
Kirk was a loving and kind-hearted stepfather to his stepchildren from his late wife Joni Hutchins: Jill (Glenn) and Chris; as well as his step grandchildren Dylan, Brenna and Bradon.
Joined in Holy Matrimony with wife Maricor, Kirk was also a kind-hearted step-father to Toni-Marie (Percy), Monchie (Asher) and Jose. He was also fond and caring towards his step grandchildren, Adeleine, Oliver and Penelope.
Kirk also loved and cherished his dearest cousin and best friend, Danny Osborne.
Kirk was the only child of the late Gordon Ellis and the late Lois Wadenstein. He was the only grandchild of Undine Ellis, who he fondly called Nana.
Kirk studied tenaciously and graduated at the top of his class at UC Berkeley School of Law. Kirk was a voracious reader and every conversation with him was fascinating, informative and thought-provoking.
Kirk’s other passion was his keen interest in the Stock Market. He pored through Barron's, the Wall Street Journal and all kinds of market driven literature to be as informed and knowledgeable as possible.
Kirk’s fondest childhood memories were fishing in Malibu Pier and swimming at the YMCA in Santa Monica, Ca.
An only child of his parents, Kirk worked hard since he was young. He was a newspaper boy and he worked in merchant ships during his summer breaks from school. After high school, he also served in the army which instilled discipline in him and allowed him to travel the world.
One of the many endearing qualities that I admire about my husband is his unconditional love, respect and gratitude for his grandmother, his mother and his father. Kirk makes the effort to have flowers laid in each of their tombs/plots during their Birthdays, Death Anniversary, Christmas and Easter.
Kirk indubitably lived a full and blessed life. We are most thankful to God for the time spent and the memories made. We continue to pray for his blessed soul and we look forward to the day when we can meet again.
For all the hearts that Kirk has touched, feel free to write your thoughts and memories and post pictures on the Tribute Wall.
