Kent Young died on the 24th of January. He was 89 years old. He was born in Chicago, IL, grew up in Batavia, IL, graduated from Augustana College (IL) and Peabody College in Nashville, TN where he received a Master's Degree in Library Science. Mr. Young lived in White Plains, New York for 47 years. In these years he served as a volunteer at Burke Rehabilitation Center, St. Agnes Hospital, Rosary Hill Nursing Home, New York Hospital Westchester Division, Schnurmacher Nursing Home, St. John the Evangelist Church, and the Rye Association for the Handicapped. He was President of the Westchester Curia of the Legion of Mary in which he served nine years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy, his daughter Kim Hart, his son-in-law, Ken Hart, two grandsons, Ross and Daniel, all of Rough and Ready, CA.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains on Friday, January 31st at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
