Kathryn A McNamara

Kathryn Anne McNamara, 69, of Estero, Florida, died Tuesday June 22nd, 2010 at Greenwich Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

The daughter of the late Dr. & Mrs. Frank McCarthy, Kathy was born and raised in Riverdale, New York, where she attended Sacred Heart of Mary High School. On April 28, 1962, she married John (Jack) Patrick McNamara and lived most of her life in Katonah and Golden's Bridge, New York where she worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker. In 2005, she and Jack retired to Estero, where she was an active parishioner and member of the Our Lady's Society at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community in Fort Myers. Recently, Kathy and Jack relocated back to Westchester to be with their family.

Kathy was the loving mother of five children: Terry McNamara of South Salem, New York, Eileen Hanlon of White Plains, New York, Sean McNamara of Yorktown, Virginia, Brian McNamara of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Erin Crew of Manhattan, New York. She was also the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren: Kathleen and Brendan (Terry), Kyle, Ryan and Kelly (Eileen), and Maggie, Jack, Danny, Caitlin and Rachel (Sean). She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Jack McNamara, her sister Alanna Flynn, and her brothers Frank, Edward, and Michael McCarthy. She was predeceased by her brothers Dennis and James McCarthy.

Kathy remains an inspiration to all of those who knew her.
