Kathleen A Humphreys

Kathleen Humphreys passed away peacefully at White Plains Hospital on January 23rd, 2017 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Mable and Joseph Humphreys of Waterville, NY. She is survived by her cousin Elaine Lundin of Kingston, MA and her cousin Roger Slater and his mother Eileen Slater of Dublin, Ireland.
Kathleen graduated from Vassar College. She was an independent working woman and for most of her career was an executive administrative assistant for several companies producing parts for textile manufacturing. She was a devoted daughter who cared for her mother for many years. She faced the challenges life presents with determination, but also with a light hearted sense of humor and is an inspiration for young women today.
Kathleen had an adventurous spirit and was well travelled. She was curious and intelligent and remained engaged with local and global news throughout retirement. As a retiree, she took many courses at S.U.N.Y. Purchase and continued her life-long love of learning. She learned to use a computer, in part to ensure that she kept up with her friends while never missing a chance to congratulate them on a birthday or special event.
Kathleen was a sparkling conversationalist, a gracious and kind lady, and a very generous friend. “Kathleen, we thank you for sharing your life with us all. You will be dearly missed!”
Kathleen will be buried in Waterville, NY, her home town, as she requested. Arrangements pending.
