Born on January 21, 1931 Departed on October 24, 2010

Karyl F. Rose, age 79, a lifetime resident of Scarsdale and White Plains, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 24, 2010 after a long fight with cancer. Karyl was known and loved by all who knew her, whether for a lifetime or only briefly. She had a talent for endearing people to her. She was the founder of the Knit Wits, a group volunteer knitters who over the past 20 years have raised over $500,000.00 for the White Plains Hospital. Karyl was an artist, had a published craft book, and is known for doing so much for so many other people. She was born at White Plains Hospital. Karyl and Bill, her loving husband of 35 years were members of Sunningdale Country Club. They spent many summers in Lake Placid, a place near and dear to their hearts. Karyl was preceded in death by her husband William R. Rose II. Karyl is survived by her only sister, Bette, her children, Robin, Kenny (Julie), and Amy (Costa), and her grandchildren who all adored her, Anna, Elliot, Kelsey, Zoe, Aidan, and Peyton. She is also survived by her step children Rick (Lizzie), Judy (Van) and Lisa, and their children Paul, Derek, Jordan, David, Tyler and Tristen. Donations in her memory may be made to White Plains Hospital Center Knit Wits, Corner of Davis Ave. and East Post Road, White Plains, NY 10607. She will be greatly missed by all.
