Julio Ernesto Chincha, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19th, 2017, at the White Plains Hospital. He was born on April 19, 1928, in the state of Ancash in Peru, to Jacinta Castillo Sánchez, who raised him as a single mother. He graduated from Colegio Nacional de Nuestra Sra. de Guadalupe. He married Lidia Laguna, on April 24th, 1960. He worked as an Electrical Technician at Singer Co. while also displaying his beautiful glass blowing artwork. He loved reading newspapers and playing crossword puzzles. In 2000, Julio Ernesto moved to the U.S. and worked at The Journal News and later received his U.S. Citizenship. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling with his cousin to many different countries throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Julio Ernesto was always a sweet and gentle man, who never complained about anything. His kindness and grace showed in every moment of his life, even through his last breath.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lidia; his 6 children: Ernesto, Sonia, Nancy, Wilfredo, Roxana and Lourdes; 2 sisters, Delia and Leopolda "Leo"; sister-in-law, Flora; 11 grandchildren: Natalie, Bryant, Ivanoskic, Michelle, Nampier, Jackeline "Jackie", Dubraska, Melanie, Abraham, Gadiel, and Valentina; and many close friends.
