Judith Kornfeld of White Plains, NY passed away on March 5, 2021. Judy was born in 1937 to the late Edith and Adolph Raab in Brooklyn, NY. Her childhood was spent in Brooklyn and summers at the family camps Onibar-Geneva. Judy was a terrific athlete, especially playing tennis and softball. After graduating from Adelphi Academy, at 16 years old, she enrolled at Syracuse University earning her degree four years later.

In November 1958, she met Marvin Kornfeld, who became her husband and lifelong partner. This September they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Judy and Marvin had two children, Michael and Steven. The family's early years were spent in Queens and for the last forty in White Plains.

Judy was a lifelong New Yorker and diehard Mets fan, rooting for her team from the beginning of spring training through those memorable World Series. She enjoyed the New York Times and could finish the Sunday crossword puzzle with great speed. Judy had many friends, many of whom she met while playing mahjong, exercising at the gym, and in her neighborhood. She was a loyal and dedicated friend, maintaining many close friendships since childhood and early adulthood. Judy enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean and Europe and fine cuisine. She loved family gatherings, holidays and celebrations.

Judy was very close to her daughters' in-law, Jeannie and Dana and derived great pleasure and pride from her five grandchildren: Hannah, Jacob, Cassidy, Sarah and Noah. Judy is also survived by her sister Ellen and many cousins.

Judy will be remembered for her caring towards others, her positive nature and beautiful smile. The family expresses its deepest gratitude to Kay, Judith, Tanya, and Pearl who provided phenomenal care and love over the past months and to Maggie from Calvary Hospice. Donations in Judy's memory may be made to The Cancer Center at the White Plains Hospital, Planned Parenthood or the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps.
