Josephine Cervi

Josephine Lucy Cervi, aged 90, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of March 6th, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was a lifelong resident of White Plains, N.Y.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and aunt—and a surrogate mom to all who knew her.

Josephine was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Romeo Vito Cervi, her parents, Walter and Kathryn Asta, her sister Mary Mondello, and brothers Thomas and James Asta.

She is survived by her children, Marie Cervi and partner Patricia Flandera of Hartsdale, N.Y., and son Ernest Cervi of Southampton, N.Y.; her sisters Teresa (Ann) Fabiano and Linda Asta of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

She loved her caretakers Janette Lee and Lorna Johnson, who were devoted to her for many years.

Her favorite pastime was taking care of others who needed her special type of love and acceptance.
